THE OLD QUEEN'S HEAD [acoustic / non-full band]. In response to the healthy acoustic scene Dead or Alive presents a weekly night at the coolest venue in town. A few minutes walk from Angel tube in Islington is this very vibey new venue situated on the increasingly trendy Essex Road. Singer songwriters, duos, trios, barbershop quartets are all welcome. Whether you are on your own, your band wants to perform unplugged, or you're a vocalist with a backing cd - Dead or Alive would like to hear from you. Plus, each act gets to perform a full 30 minute set. Don't forget to turn off your mobile phones during the gig - after all we're talking the mellower side of things here!

NB. No 7 band bills here unlike other promoters! 4 band bills with full 30 minute sets and 15 minutes for changeover with Dead or Alive.
(note: acoustic shows have 5 acts but each still gets a full 30 minute set).
Watch out for promoters who will cram you onto a bill with as many bands as possible meaning you get no soundcheck, go on stage late and only get a 20 minute set. And then charge £7-8 on the door for the pleasure. Grim!
Entry to Dead or Alive gigs is a recession busting £3-5 (rather than £6-10 many are charging / extorting these days)!
